Llama day hikes

From April through October, we offer individuals and groups the opportunity to experience a llamapacking day hike through local public lands in southern lower Michigan. This is a unique way to get to know llamas in a more personal and individual way, as well as learn much more about what they are capable of as hiking companions. We conduct llamapacking day hikes in selected state parks in southern lower Michigan (see list below). The cost per person is $40, with a two person minimum, and includes a premium lunch (which the llamas carry for us). Each guest leads their own llama. The half-day hike usually takes about two and a half to three and a half hours, including the lunch stop. We can vary the length according to the preference of our guests from one to three miles, depending on the trail. Longer, full-day excursions may be arranged at additional cost. Hikes may be re-scheduled due to excessive heat or heavy rain.

We are currently limiting our groups to four as we raise and train new packers.

Payment in cash or personal check. There is no charge for children under 12. However, they  may only lead a llama if supervised directly (one-to-one) by a paying adult guest who is not leading one. Llamas are strictly pack animals, and we therefore do not permit anyone to ride them. Participants will be asked to sign a liability release.
