This page last updated September 26, 2009

We have a very modest but carefully growing herd of classic llamas. Our breeding program brings together some of the best Classic/Ccara bloodlines available in the U.S. and mixes them with some longstanding North American pedigrees. We are breeding for a well-conformed, athletic animal first, followed by (in no particular order) coat type, disposition, longevity, fertility, and mothering ability. We have a preference for the taller end of the Classic / Ccara spectrum, but do not use this as a primary selective criteria for our breeding program.

For more information about the Classic/Ccara breed, please visit the following websites:

Yanaqui - our primary Classic herdsire

GDL Primo X Quimsa

DOB: 10-6-1991

From Al and Sondra Ellis, Highline Trails Llamas, Boulder, WY.

Yanaqui worked in Highline Trails' pack string for all of his adult life. When he reached 17, Al decided to let him retire to a less demanding setting. His name appears on a large percentage of the pedigrees at Highline, including that of some of the Al's best studs. He is much missed back in WY but equally appreciated here in MI, where is is helping establish on of the first true Classic/ Ccara breeding programs in the Midwest.

We have two females bred to him for Fall 2010 crias. He is available for a limited number of outside breedings.

Tobias's Mazama - our junior Classic herdsire

Anders Tobias X Rocky Mountain Sunshine

DOB: 5-15-08

From Niki and Jeff Kuklenski, JNK Llamas

One of the very first, much sought-after sons of "Toby," Mazama was worth waiting for. He will begin breeding in the spring of 2010.

Once he is proven, Mazama will be available for a limited number of outside breedings.

Lauren

Crazy Mountain Man X GLL Launa

DOB: 3-28-1994

A long, tall, correct female out of vintage North American bloodlines. She is an ALSA "Produce of Dam" champion. An excellent mother, she has delivering six cria alive and totally unassisted. Her crias grow quickly and exhibit her same stretch and pattern. We are very excited about her next cria by Yanaqui, due Fall, 2010.

Babe

Lauren X Seņor Giggle Lindo, ALSA Elite Champion

DOB 9-2-03

This Lauren daughter is displays many of her mother's best qualities, including stature, correctness and great mothering. Click here to see her last cria by Yanaqui. She is bred back to him for a June 2010 cria.
